The Kid Kurry Band is the area's most musically talented Southern Rock cover band. This 5-member group features the music of Southern Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, The Allman Brothers, and others. KKB also performs hits by The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, America, Pure Prairie League, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Eric Clapton, and more, to bring something for everyone to enjoy. Their full vocal harmonies combined with their musical expertise creates a musical experience that truly sets them apart.
The Kid Kurry Band has been Western New York promoter's band of choice to be the perfect opening act for The Outlaws, 38 Special, Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Molly Hatchet, Phil Vassar, Little River Band, Pure Prairie League, Kansas, The Swon Brothers, Quiet Riot, Jefferson Starship, and the list goes on.

I started singing at a very young age in the backseat of my father’s car. He always encouraged me to sing louder — so that’s what I’ve always done. I’ve always been interested in music, and when I was 12, my father bought me my first guitar.
After high school, I played with many friends. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law decided to put a band together and asked if I would be the vocalist. We auditioned several people and eventually formed the band. In 1984, we played out for the first time at a bar in Scottsville (now Foxies), and I’ve been playing ever since.
We took 11 years off to raise a family, and my wife Anne and I were in the band together for many years. Today, I’m the only original member still in the band — and I’m still enjoying every minute of playing music.

Anne Wyand
Anne’s musical journey began early, studying flute and violin at the Hochstein School of Music under instructors from the Eastman School. At just 14 years old, she and her sister Cathie joined Chuck Mangione’s jazz band — an extraordinary beginning to a life shaped by music, grace, and quiet strength.
Music remained a constant thread throughout her life. Alongside her husband Rick, Anne was an essential part of the heart and history of The Kid Kurry Band for many years. Her presence brought warmth, balance, and a gentle steadiness that continues to echo within the group.
A lifelong animal lover, she formed special bonds with every family dog over the years and was especially known for her beloved pet skunk, Boodles — a perfect reflection of her gentle spirit and quiet sense of humor.
Though she is no longer physically with us, Anne’s spirit remains woven into the fabric of the band. Her kindness, her strength, and the music she shared continue to inspire every note played in her honor.

Adam Goldsmith
Adam began his musical journey at age 15, inspired not only by the iconic guitar heroes of the era, but also by the lesser-known players whose skill and originality left a lasting impression. If they were great guitarists — famous or not — they were an influence.
He played in numerous bands throughout the Maryland/DC area, including being invited to participate in the 1986 “Hands Across America” event. After stepping away in the 1990s to focus on work and family, Adam returned to gigging on bass before transitioning back to guitar.
He went on to spend 11 years performing with the well-known Rochester-based Nik and The Nice Guys family of bands, becoming a familiar face on stages across the region. A lifelong fan of Southern Rock, Adam joined The Kid Kurry Band in 2020 and has been happily playing guitar ever since.
Drums and other things that get hit
Mike Morgan was reportedly raised by wolves in the Colombian wilderness before becoming a veteran of the Rochester, NY and San Francisco music scenes. He has performed with a wide range of ensembles spanning Celtic rock to post-apocalyptic surf punk.
Mike has shared the stage with numerous regional and touring acts, including The Regi Hendrix Band, The Drifters, and The Rob Buck Band (10,000 Maniacs), and spent eight formative years with The Fornieri Brothers.
He studied drums and percussion with John Beck of the Eastman School of Music, along with Chuck Morey, Vinny Ruggerio, Barrett Deems, and Ted Reed. His influences include Bernard Purdie, Mitch Mitchell, Dave Garibaldi, and Danny Seraphine.
Bass guitar, lead and background vocals
A member of the Kid Kurry Band since 2011, Steve Kingdom inherited his love of music from his father, who would often play 45’s by Elvis Presley, the Everly Brothers and other artists when he was a child. He started playing guitar at age 12, and began playing bass at age 13. Primarily self-taught, he learned to play by listening to records of songs he liked and learning to play the bass parts by ear. A longtime veteran of the local music scene, he has been a member of many local groups including the New Bourbon Blend, New Vintage, the Dynamics, the Orient Express Band, the Spanky Haschmann Swing Orchestra, and Rochester Brass & Electric, among many others. He has also been a member of the pit orchestra for many local musical productions, particularly for the Downstairs Cabaret.
Steve credits the Beatles/Paul McCartney, Jack Bruce, Leland Sklar, Chuck Rainey, Carol Kaye and James Jameson as influences, along with others too numerous to name.

Christopher has been playing professionally in bands since 1983. His most recent venture with The Kid Kurry Band began in 2000. Lynyrd Skynyrd has always been his main inspiration for playing guitar, but The Outlaws, The Allman Brothers Band, and Molly Hatchet were also influential.
